I was home, invited to participate as a guest chef in “Saborea 2017,” the island’s internationally renowned four-day culinary extravaganza. The event is always over the top, even more so this year, in celebration of its tenth anniversary. There are visiting chefs and foodies from all over the world, and I am always inspired by the fresh local ingredients, the bold food choices, the beautiful presentations.
Estaba de regreso en casa, invitada a participar como chef en “Saborea 2017,” el prestigioso festival internacional que se celebra anualmente en la isla durante cuatro días. Cada año, el evento queda mejor, y este año fue especial porque celebraban los diez años del festival. Chefs y entusiastas de la cocina, de todas partes del mundo, acuden a este evento a deleitarnos con sus descubrimientos de nuevos y frescos ingredientes, recetas atrevidas y hermosas presentaciones.
Looking back, I appreciate the access I had to a good life. And now, at this stage of my life, I have the privilege of paying it forward. At Advocate Community Providers, I have the opportunity of collaborating with dedicated Community Health Workers to spread a healthy message, especially in the Latino community.
