Tonguç Yaman

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Tonguç Yaman is a senior IT executive in health care who has led successful initiatives in many complex environments—infrastructure, financial services and application development experience. Prior to becoming SOMOS Community Care’s first Chief Information Officer, he was the Deputy Network CIO for South Manhattan Healthcare Network at Bellevue Hospital; a flagship hospital for New York City Health & Hospitals Corporation.

Tonguç has earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, and has completed the Executive Master of Public Health program at Columbia University. Currently, he is continuing his education at Columbia, and is a candidate for a Doctorate of Public Health (2022), while simultaneously assistant teaching a Health Information Technology (HIT) course.

Tonguç has had the opportunity to lead many public health ingenuities, and is now delivering proven strategic healthcare IT expertise to the SOMOS Community Care’s executive leadership team. He consistently ensures the IT architecture helps SOMOS meet new challenges, and ultimately better serves our patients.

Tonguç has participated in the Command Center, as the member of IT Leadership, for successful evacuation of Bellevue Hospital following Hurricane Sandy (October 2012); and successfully led the IT support for Ebola Virus Disease Treatment area at Bellevue Hospital.

Tonguç spent years as a Senior Program Manager at Mount Sinai, and implemented GE Centricity Perioperative Manager as the integrated solution for clinical documentation managements in all of the Continuum Perioperative Areas. He additionally project managed (and implemented) Server Management Processes for Commissioning, Decommissioning and Repurposing Servers in preparation for the imminent Data Center Move at Northwell Health, and managed infrastructure Resources and Project Allocations as the single point of contact to the PMO.

Tonguç hopes to play a role in making health care and education more accessible to all. He believes IT is essential in that quest – more critical today than ever before. This has become the driver in his career.
