Gabriela I. Sandoval Requena

Director of Regulatory Affairs

Gabriela Sandoval Requena is the Director of Regulatory Affairs at SOMOS Community Care. Gabriela is a DSRIP program subject matter expert. As such, she monitors the rapidly developing requirements and leads SOMOS Community Care staff to ensure the proper and timely submission of deliverables. She distilled the complex DSRIP program funding and mechanics protocols to develop comprehensive financial models that delineate the allocation of over $7 million of available funds by projects and quality measures, and forecast future payments based on performance results.

Gabriela specializes in financial modeling, project management, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and business strategic planning.

Prior to joining SOMOS Community Care in 2015, Gabriela worked as a Policy Analyst at Coalition for the Homeless, where she advocated for individuals to secure their right to shelter and access to permanent housing. She worked to develop and advance evidence-based policy recommendations through strategic collective actions that empowered homeless New Yorkers, promoted public awareness, and influenced local and state decision makers. Gabriela also served as spokesperson for the Coalition at international conferences and represented the organization at City Council hearings and television interviews.

While pursuing her Masters of Public Administration, Gabriela interned at US Senator Gillibrand’s New York City office for one year; first as a Constituent Services Representative, where she assisted Superstorm Sandy victims in resolving cases with FEMA, and later under the Director of State Outreach.
